Background and History of Sterling & Scott, LLC
Looking back at the early influences, there were several family members and friends that were writers and speech makers, and I was exposed to original art works at a young age. All kinds of music filled our home, from Bluegrass and old-time Gospel to Classical guitar.
Fast forward to living in Massachusetts many years ago, one of the most delightful things during that time was hosting open mic nights and benefit concerts for a nonprofit. Many talented people joined in to create a wonderful energetic atmosphere and camaraderie, some of which I remain in contact with today.
After relocating back to my hometown in Southern Ohio, it was not long before the urge to create emerged once again. In 2008, the forming of Ability Network Productions (ANP) gave life to several productions. Heart Strings (2010), and Signposts (2012)
were plays developed in conjunction with individuals with special needs offering script and character ideas. In 2014, the short film Dream Scenes premiered complete with a red-carpet debut. Later, a Medieval-themed fundraiser dinner theatre, Hurts Like the Dickens, was the last event for many years.
After retirement from the workforce and during the COVID-19 pandemic, thoughts of creating again filled pages and pages of journal notes. Concepts of animations, stories,
and dreams of screenplays finally made it impossible to ignore.
The first “project” was the development of Never Too Late Café, a marketing platform for small business owners, and creatives. Within a year, The Bloom Where You’re Planted podcast began. Both of those endeavors served to meet the concept of assisting and supporting other artists.
However, the many ideas that wished to be born, could no longer be ignored. Sterling & Scott, LLC is the product of saying “Yes!” to those creative urges. Writings, music, films and collaborations will be shared as they emerge.
